This was early on as well, all the back of the house is still there, solid ground beneath our feet.... see later to see what it looks like now!

First Week

Garage demo was one of the first things to happen, giving the builders a bit more room to get on and off the site. You can see here that the roof, front and right hand side have gone. The left hand wall affords privacy to next door, so was left after the rest had gone. Hole in 'middle room' for the new window. Disappointed it isn't bigger, it's matched to the one in the front room, but I had been hoping that it would be the same size as the one that was blocked up. One of the first skips.... we've had loads since then!

One of the first jobs to be done, was removing the chimney. .... at least 'our' half has been taken down and the chimney built up again as Carol and Harold still use theirs. The builder marked the new mortar round the base '2007'

Sunday 6th May/Wednesday 9th May (by TWW)

This is what the back of the house looks like before we start the extension.The Extension is to come to the edge of the current patio and will take 5 months, starting 8th May 2007 and finishing at the end of September.

The work should have started yesterday but it didn't. However, they did bring a skip.Today, they started work. They took out a window, formed a new window opening, knocked out part of a chimney and put a lot of scaffolding up.It is running behind a day but seeing as the whole project is taking 5 months then one day is not too important.

Let's Start Again

Well..... Thomas is being a right 'Kevin' and decided that having set up his 'blog' he couldn't be bothered to carry on with it.

So, all I have to do now is work out how to use this Blogger website thingy.

One of the privileges of being in charge now, is that I can make it all the colour I want. This is a template that took my fancy and will be fine for now.

I'll start by copying the stuff in that Thomas did.
